Small Business Saturday

American Express® has designated Saturday, November 26, 2011, as Small Business Saturday.  Use your American Express card to spend $25 or more at a small business and you’ll get a one time $25 credit on your statement.  This is a win for you and a win for small businesses.

American Express has a partial list of small businesses on their Small Business Saturday Facebook page that is searchable by zip code.  There are restaurants like Mighty Taco and Bill Gray’s, sporting goods stores such as Bert’s Bikes & Fitness and service businesses such as Buckmans Car Wash. There are liquor stores, gas stations, dental providers and country clubs.  You shouldn’t have a problem finding a business to spend money at.

You need to pre-register in order to take advantage of this deal.  American Express says they are limiting enrollment, so get to it before the opportunity passes.

When you pledge to Shop Small on Small Business Saturday you’ll have the chance to win one of 100 $25 American Express Shop Small Gift Cards.* Click on the logo below to make your pledge.

*The Gift Cards are offered by Vocalpoint, an online community that provides valuable and interesting insights about new products.

  1. Speaking of small businesses, there is a one year old franchise in Rochester called Batteries Plus. Its located in Tops Plaza on Jefferson Road in Henrietta. Great customer service and the best part is, I saved $7 on a battery for my cordless AT&T phone(I’m returning the one I bought at Radio Shack–I knew $22 was way too much for a battery).

They also sell light bulbs. I bought a 60 watt red CFL for the holidays.
