I thought I’d continue with my theme of cheap and free summer entertainment in Rochester. This one’s more geared towards families though watching Jaws at the beach is not intended for the little ones.
Monroe County offers free outdoor movies on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Ontario Beach Park and the Highland Park Bowl. All movies start at dusk. For more info see the county website: http://www.monroecounty.gov/parks-movies.php.
The town of Chili also offers free outdoor movies at Davis Park, off Chestnut Ridge Road. Movies Under the Stars start around 9-9:15. For more info see the town’s website.
Regal Cinemas have their Summer Movie Express again for 2011. The movies, which cost $1, vary depending upon which theater you go to. Regal has theaters in Henrietta and Greece (and Williamsville for those of you in the Buffalo area or the Carousel Mall for those in the Syracuse area). Admission is $1 and movie are shown Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Below are the schedules for the Rochester are theaters.
Then there is always Cinemark Movies 10 in Brighton where all movies on Tuesdays are $1. So there’s no excuse for not taking the kids or grandkids to see a movie this summer.
